Janelle is Associate Dean for Graduate Studies as well as Professor of Drama at UCI. She is also President of the International Federation for Theatre Research. She is Series Editor, together with Brian Singleton of Trinity College Dublin, of Studies in International Performance, a book series for Palgrave/Macmillan. Among her current research projects is the multicampus research group on International Performance and Culture involving six UC campuses, of which she is Principal Investigator. For the past ten years, she has been a core faculty member of the International Center for Advanced Theatre Research at the University of Helsinki.

Professor Reinelt teaches one Ph.D. seminar each year. Since coming to UCI in 2001, she has taught “Post-Marxist British Theory and Theatre,” “Theatricality and Performativity,” and “The Promise of Documentary.” In 2006, she will teach a seminar on “The Politics of Contemporary British Theatre,” one of her specialties.

In 2003, she was the second senior scholar invited to contribute an “Auto-Archive” (an intellectual autobiography) to Theatre Journal, in a continuing series highlighting the leading scholars in the field.
