PHILIP
THOMPSON
Associate Professor of Drama at the University of
California, Irvine, and head of the MFA program in Acting. Former head of the
MFA Acting program at the Ohio State University. Former board member of the
University/Regional Theatre Association. Over a decade of service to the
Voice and Speech Trainers Association, as Secretary, board member, and
finally, as President. Certified as master teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework.
Extensive credits as a voice/text/dialect director for numerous theatres such
as Pasadena Playhouse, Opera Pacific, Denver Center Theatre Company and the
Alabama Shakespeare Festival. In addition, he has developed long term
relationships with three Tony-Award Winning Theatres: at the Cincinnati
Playhouse in the Park (17 productions), at South Coast Repertory (19
productions), and the Utah Shakespearean Festival (36 productions). |
