Roland Perold Roland is a 2nd year MFA Music Direction candidate. He moved to the US (from South Africa) specifically to further his studies in Music Direction at UCI. Back home, Roland has been working in the performing arts sector in various capacities and is thrilled for this opportunity to be in Irvine to develop his skills here at UCI. |

Jay Real Jezreel "Jay" Real is a 1st year Music Direction MFA candidate in Music Direction in UCI's Drama department. While originally from Davis, CA, Jay studied Music Theory & Composition at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, and after graduating in 2018, continued to work in the Santa Barbara area as a freelance musician for the next 7 years as a pianist and Music Director. He most notably directed for local musical theatre companies "Lights Up! Theatre Company" and "Out of the Box Theatre Company". Jay is extremely excited for the opportunity to continue his work and studies at the graduate level, and looks forward to developing his career alongside the incredible faculty and students at UC Irvine. |
