Music Direction
Master of Fine Arts - Music Direction

A music director is a chameleon. They are known to wear many hats, often more than one at a time.

They come from varied backgrounds and disciplines, but they all have one thing in common: the desire to create and make music with others.

At the heart of our MFA program lie two foundational cornerstones: equity and inspiration. We prepare and train highly skilled music directors to compete in the professional theatre market, while encouraging their own individual interests and musical curiosities. It is this confluence of experimentation through inquiry that embolden our music directors’ voices while honing their musical toolkits that will serve them as artists throughout their professional careers.

This one of a kind, interdisciplinary program is housed within the Department of Drama at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts in beautiful Southern California.
