The UCI Department of Drama Design Faculty is very proud to celebrate the work of our MFA designers that focuses on innovation at its best. These eight design installations embody what we’ve all discovered during the 2020 year: live theater is indeed in flux. They feature the astounding ability of our students to transform pandemic challenges into the opportunity to explore new technologies and new forms of storytelling. Theater In Flux provided an experiential platform that helped students gain a substantial understanding of their field and features highly sought- after skills such as design thinking, collaboration, communication, and complex problem solving. We could not have created this large project without the efforts of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts staff and the Drama faculty and administrators who were a tremendous support to our students. Please enjoy your visit through this celebration of change.
