I am a versatile performing artist and Assistant Professor of Teaching, specializing in vocal instruction and pedagogy in UC Irvine’s Music Theatre Program. My work bridges classical, music theatre, and contemporary commercial music (CCM), with a focus on helping singers develop adaptable and sustainable techniques across various styles. I am especially committed to advocating for self-sustainability through creative adaptability—particularly for artists from marginalized backgrounds entering new creative spaces.
As a performing artist, I have sung on arena tours and major theatrical and concert stages worldwide, including projects with Philip Glass, Leonard Cohen, and German pop artist Sarah Connor. My live and recorded work—spanning recurring television and radio specials, commercial album recordings, and an official music video feature—contributes to ongoing international recognition.
Recently, I have diversified my creative experiences with stage directing. At UCI, I co-directed the Drama Department’s mainstage production of The Prom and directed and premiered Ancestry, a new play by colleague Zachary Price.
My teaching and creative work are grounded in a commitment to equity, innovation, and artistic integrity.
Before joining UCI Drama, I lived in Berlin, where I taught music in several schools and maintained a private vocal studio with 25 students across Germany.
I’m a proud native of Kansas with the heart of a New Yorker and a European sensibility.
