CTSA has a record-breaking Giving Day!

On May 18, 2022, the UCI community held its annual online Giving Day, and the Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) had its most successful Giving Day to date, raising more than $60,000 from more than 150 gifts. Funds raised on went directly to the Departments of Art, Dance, Drama, and Music to support the areas of greatest need

The CTSA community was ignited as gifts poured in from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends nationwide.

“I give to the UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts because creativity is the heart and soul of society,” said Ivan Williams, a UCI Foundation trustee and CTSA Dean’s Arts Board member who served as CTSA’s giving day ambassador.

Sarah Strozza, director of development for CTSA, attributed the success, in part, to the generous donors who agreed to make matching and challenge gifts. “It was incredible to witness our CTSA community come together on Giving Day and make a big impact for the Arts at UCI. A special thank you to our match and challenge gift donors: Gerald and Veronica DeVries, Dennis and Diane Baker, the Beth Koehler Estate, Pacific Art Foundation, and our very own Dean Stephen Barker, who were instrumental in helping us meet and exceed our goals and raise essential funds for arts education at UCI.”

Thrilled by the substantial support, Dean Barker shared words of gratitude, “Thank you for coming together to make a collective impact in support of our programs at CTSA. Every dollar raised will directly support the art, dance, drama, and music departments by providing necessary resources to allow all CTSA students to explore new frontiers in the arts, cultivate their voices, and excel in their roles both on and off campus.”

This investment in the next generation of creative leaders will allow CTSA to continue building on its remarkable legacy and expanding its role on campus and in the community.
